Distances
  • Triathlon Full Course:                  400 metre  swim, 12 km cycle, 4 km walk or run 
  • Triathlon ½ Course Distance:     200 metre swim, 6 km  cycle, 2 km walk or run 

  • Triathlon Sprint Distance*:         750 metre swim, 18 km  cycle, 5 km run*

  • Duathlon Sprint Distance*          500 metre run, 18 km cycle, 5 km run*

  • Duathlon Full course:                  500 metre run,  12 km cycle, 4 km walk or run 

  • Duathlon ½ Course Distance:     200 metre run, 6 km  cycle, 2 km walk or run 

  • Swim cycle event:                        400 metre swim  12 km cycle 

  • Swim Run event:                          400 metre  swim, 4 km walk or run 

  • Have a go - Fun Run:                   5 km walk or run

  • Teams:                                          Most of the above events have team options

 

*Sprint Distance triathlon and duathlon are designed for more experienced participants. You need to be able to complete the entire distance comfortably within 2 hrs (approx. under 30 mins swim, under 45 min cycle, under 45 min run). We will monitoring progress and you may be asked to turn back early.

Waves & Age Groups
 
The first wave starts are at 8.30 am starting with the the Sprint Distance triathlon (750 m/18 km/5 km) and duathlon ( 500 m/18 m /5 km). Further waves will starts at 9 am at approximately 3 minute intervals, based on age. You will be advised of your wave at Registration.   

The minimum age for the swim and run/walk is 8 years of age. The minimum age for the cycle is 12 years (and you must be familiar with riding on the road).

8 – 11 year old's can form part of a 2 or 3 woman team (get Mum to do the cycle leg for you) or participate in the ‘Have a Go’ Fun Run/Walk event (although this is a marshaled and marked course adults must take responsibility for minors at all times)

Course & Maps
 
Swim Course - 750m (sprint distance only) 400m or 200m

The  swim takes place in the sea by the old Raumati Pool. It will be a rectangular course with Paekakariki Surf Club members present. The KWT swim cap supplied must be worn. 

 

Novice swimmers
If you are anxious about the swim, please request a pink swim cap on your entry form and the Surf Club patrol will keep a special watch out for you (not available for Sprint distance)

Biking Mad Cycle - 18km (Sprint distance only) 12km or 6km

 

 

 

Traffic management is in place on the bike course, we do NOT have full road closure for the event.
Treat all roads as open at all times

 

Bikes must be roadworthy. FREE bike safety checks are available from our sponsor Andrew at Biking Mad, Raumati Beach.

Run/Walk course - 5km (Sprint distance and Fun Run) 4km or 2km

The run/walk begins as you leave the transition area and ends in Marine Gardens.

Saturday, 22nd February 2020

2.00 - 3.00 pm: Registration, event pack and merchandise pick up. The club rooms behind the old Raumati pool, Garden Road, Raumati.

Sunday, 23rd  February 2020 - EVENT DAY!

7.00 am –8.00 am: Registration, event pack and merchandise pick up (you do NOT need to register again if you attended onSaturday)  The club rooms behind the old Raumati pool, Garden Road, Raumati.

8.15 am: (WO)MANDATORY Event Briefing in Transition area 

8.30 am:  WAVES BEGIN

11.30 am(ish): Prizegiving

Briefing:  
All participants must attend briefing. Be ready to start soon after the briefing.

Start Times:
Sprint distance 8.30 am, all other waves start from 9.00 am    

At the  Finish: 
Hand in your transponder (only applicable for teams) collect a drink and celebrate!
