The Final Cut Here We Go!
The training is done, it's just a coast to the start line now, relax and look forward to a great day on Sunday. This final installment has just a couple of reminders, including the info that explains how your day will run. It's essential to be familiar with this and to also have checked out the site maps (see buttons at bottom), YOU MUST know your course. This makes the morning less confusing, so that you can focus on your event, not where to go and how to get there.
All Long Distance participants have received and additional email with specific instructions that apply to you only.

Parking
It's important you have some idea of where to park.
We have road closure on the morning for Garden Road and Matatua Rd (from Alexander Rd - Tui Rd intersections) so you will need to do a small amount of walking to get to registration.
You can park in surrounding streets that are NOT on any of the bike course.
We have also organised two local schools that have good FREE parking spaces.
1. Raumati Beach Primary school - Raumati Road, Raumati Beach. They have a new 'top' carpark accessed off Raumati Road and adjacent to Kiwi Road. Clearly visible from the road - with KWT 'Event Parking' signs outside.
2. Kapiti College - Raumati Road, Raumati Beach. Turn into the carpark area, off Raumati Road, make your way down the driveway and use the asphalt area. Please do not park on any grass areas. There will be KWT 'Event Parking' signs outside on Raumati Road to guide you.
Covid-19 Information - Please SCAN in
We want to be responsible event citizens so please ensure you and any of your supporters SCAN in when you arrive at the event site both Saturday and/or Sunday. There will be plenty of QR codes around as well as many of our staff will be wearing a Covid-19 QR bib code! There will also be hand sanitiser available. Yes!
Assuming Wellington/Kapiti are in level 1 on Sunday 28th February the event will go ahead according to usual operating procedures, with consideration to operating under Government level 1 Covid-19 protocols. Our full covid policy is available on our here
Merchandise
If you ordered your cool kit by 25 January, you will pick it up from the Merchandise table at registration. (it is NOT automatically put into your rego bag). Just follow the signs.
If you are kicking yourself because you haven't ordered any....the good news is, you can still order up until 10 March for direct delivery (includes $10 P&P). Green Monkey Velo who designed and made this years kit, will be onsite in the finish park, for you to try on before you buy.
They will have a very small number of items for sale at registration on a first come first served basis.
For 2021: Event T-Shirt, Performance Cap, Cycle Jersey & Event Singlet. You can check out this year's designs on the merchandise page
Timing - How, Why and Who?
In order for us to give you your finish time you must wear a timing transponder on your ankle at ALL times. You pick these up at 'Registration'.
TEAMS - Each athlete will receive a timing chip and bib tagged to your team entry. (The numbers maybe different but they all relate to your entry).
At each tag location beside the bike racks, you will just need to tag your team mate - no change of chip required.
At the end of the athletes may keep your bib numbers.
ALL timing transponders must be returned to our finish line crew before leaving the finish area. Non returned ankle chips will be charged back to a participant at $30.
Stalls in the Park
The Waterfront Bar will be open from 7.00am for filter and Barista coffee, Tea and snacks and they will have a good variety takeway items for you to grab and go.
